Week 90 – Spring is hereπŸŒ¬πŸƒ

 ·  β˜• 6 min read

Here I was planning to write a happy blog this week after finishing the laptop saga, but life had to come in the way 😞

But you know what? I will save the sadness for next week and this week focus on writing about spring πŸƒπŸ˜Œ

Personal Highlights

I don’t have a lot to cover because I wrote last week’s blog on Wednesday, so the last two weeks got a bit mixed up and by the time I was done processing the feeling of writing the blog, the week ended with me feeling sad because an irl friend left town for college. 🀧

Mindfulness

  • Journaling: Anyway, journaling went as usual, but I am afraid I rely on notion too much for something very important. Sure it makes it very convenient but is it worth risking my data?
(Btw this came into my mind after I read this blog from Derek sivers)

Fitness

  • Morning Run

    fitw90

Every time I skip run in the morning, I feel worse than the last time I skipped.

Learning

  • Reading: Same as last week

  • Listening: Finished Listening to Make Time Audiobook

And I love the fact that I decided to listen to the audiobook despite having the book on kindle because books like these are supposed to change our lifestyle subtly. So listening and taking the information subconsciously is much better than reading it line by line and taking notes because it isn’t filled with scientific studies and data. I think I will continue my audible subscription and listen to one audiobook every month in between the podcasts.

  • Coding: I wouldn’t say I made a ton of progress in coding but I did make some progress in my work, maybe it can’t be counted as a step towards coding but maybe it can be counted as half a step? 🀧

Optimization and Organization

So I got a new external HDD this week. I made the very sane decision of getting the most bang for buck deal and went with the 5TB option because it made sense, but then I realized 5TB is a bit too much and I could have done just fine with a small size. Perhaps, a better decision would have been to get two 2TBs and make a backup of the first in another as hard drives are not very reliable.

But anyway, I did end up cleaning a lot of old files while backing up my data to the new HDD, and ironically enough, I ended up decreasing my total data while paying for the expansion.

But at least now that I have my data backed up, I don’t have to worry about my drive from 2013 failing.

Job Update

Nothing new same as usual, but I have to say I am grateful for my co-workers and so far working in an agency with a bigger team feels a lot better than working at a startup where one person tries to do multiple things #iykyk

Business Updates

So I and Ocus have started getting on regular calls now and working on Octalancer related stuff because things always kept showing up and if we didn’t force ourselves to work on it, we don’t think we can make progress on it. So now we work on it every day for an hour in the evening and so far things have started happening and maybe by next week, we will have a new website and a new niche.

Thoughts on Spring

Spring is a special time of the time not because it’s the end of the winter but because this used to be the end of my exams.

I still remember every year around this time my annual exams ended and I finally had nothing to do, which meant I had everything to do and always cherished this time period, having the most amount of fun in everything that I did.

Maybe because this used to be my time off the broken system and that is why I loved this time so much.

Fun fact: While I was a student, I never cared about things like β€œthe education system” for the most part. I always appreciated what was being taught and what was asked in the exams.
Despite appreciating, I never cared about any of it, and maybe that is why I almost failed 12th 😝

Coming back to the topic of the season spring, I still feel the same emotion when I feel the cool wind blowing in the month of March even though I haven’t had exams around this time for many years now.

The feeling isn’t as strong as it used to be, though quite possibly because I don’t sit for any exams, which results in me not getting stressed and so nothing to not worry about 😩 Laut aao exam moment.

I wonder how I would be approaching exams now with all the β€œactive recall and spaced repetition” insights that I have picked up from YouTube videos, I guess we will never know.

Opinions

Creator economy is a weird circle jerk community. All they do is say how it is the next big thing and then cry about shorts getting more views than their 10 min of repetitive content 🀭

The Adam Project 2022

I watched the movie partly because I loved the idea of the movie, and have even thought of such an event occurring with me as a kid lol.

Anyway, the movie was nice with a good cast and decent story. I watched it on a Sunday afternoon, instead of writing the blog, and I don’t regret it. So yeah, that’s my short useless review of a Ryan Reynolds movie.

I am still testing this out, basically, it auto-completes text snippets and helps us with not writing the same thing again and again [saves time]

How was your week?🧐

Coming up next weekπŸ₯…

I am not sure, but now that the laptop saga has ended and my hedonic cycle has been reset, I wonder what I will wish for next.

I think I already know, and you will too, next week.
